It’s that time of week again, the Sunday Fiction Post-up is waiting for a few brave souls to share their current work-in-progress here. I’m working on a YA sci-fi romance called The Healer. Still…this has been ongoing for over a year! I will finish…someday.
I invite you to post your title, genre/sub-genre and a couple lines from page 39, starting on line 4 into the comments section. (This is actually the end of my chapter 4) No need for critique, just a little writer love.
THE HEALER (excerpt)
I reached up to touch my hairline and came away with a warm trickle of blood on my fingertips. Great, nothing says happy birthday like a concussion.
Glancing back up at the cracked mirror my face had battled and lost, a large yellow eye appeared in every shard of splintered glass. I opened my mouth to scream, but it caught in my throat. Shit! I am losing it. My hands shook as I slowly looked over my shoulder to see a hulking figure draped in black just a few feet behind me. If this was anything like my dream, I knew there were razor sharp teeth beneath that hood. And I was in trouble.
